Hibernation

This painting is slightly different from the rest, as it is a wintery scene! I have included it here, as it has not been shown yet, and is part of this exhibition. I painted this in the winter, inspired by all the snow we were having! It felt like we have had many winters withut the snow that we often saw in childhood, so to have a lovely snowy winter at the start of this year was heartwarming. 
It reminds me of the snow we had just a few weeks ago! In April!
 
I had this one up in my house over Christmas and it really is quite festive, but gentle and echoes that calm quite feeling in the winter when everything is hibernating & waiting tucked away until the warmer weather.
 
 
This painting is in oils on a 40x40cm canvas (and is about 50x50cm framed).
